At the other end of the spectrum, we may be wrestling with a feeling of ongoing dissatisfaction.

The question is, "How Can We Change This?" In my opinion, there's not one answer fits all. Always, always, always, meditation and tuning in with oneself helps but....there could be more to it than that. First things first. How about sitting quiety and placing your attention of what you're experiencing. What does it feel like and where does it come from? You may need to do this a few times, especially if this practice makes you feel really uncomfortable, which also tells you that you're in the right place, so to speak.

If you're dealing with emotions, you'll feel better once you express them. Don't underestimate how empowered and clear you will feel once you've expressed the emotions you're holding inside. In her book, Attitude Reconstruction, Jude Bijou gives direct, hands-on tips for expressing emotions. Go to her website and take a quick questionnaire, which will help you identify the emotion which is currently up for you -
http://www.attitudereconstruction.com/

If you're dealing with busy mental activity, doing yoga stretching or other physical activity which requires breathing deeply and turning your attention inward will help you become centred and connected to yourself. Going for a walk and getting fresh air can help, but it's best to keep your attention turned within.

If you're experiencing a lot of negative thinking, select an affirmation which addresses the situation and repeat it constantly. Don't let up until you notice a change. In her book, You Can Heal Your Life, Louise Hays gives great information and suggestions about changing negative thinking patterns. If you're a meditator, mantra repetition is extremely effective in changing negative thinking patterns.

If you're feeling isolated, just being around others in a social setting can help. Look in your local newspaper to see which classes you can attend on a drop in basis and choose one which is likely to lift your spirits and help you feel connected. Don't be afraid to try something new!

If you're feeling at a total crossroads in life, spiritual assistance is the way to go. Always make it a practice to reach out for Divine assistance. Pray, meditate, ask for guidance. Train yourself to really 'listen'. Listening takes place in the heart! The experience of Divine discontent, has an important place on the spiritual path. It points us toward going deeper in our spiritual practices and can help us become aware of a deep longing to experience God.
